LAPD Police Pursuit Analysis Report

This is the report to the Board of Commissioners. The dilemma is that if police could never pursue then all the criminals would have to do is drive away fast enough until the police have to stop. This would be for all crimes. Speeding? Don’t stop and keep driving. What will the police do? They can’t follow you. When stopped for any crime simply drove off. I know this sounds ridiculous but why would anyone stop to be arrested? Drive away and when the police stop following you go home or to a friends and then go home tomorrow or report your car stolen. There would be almost no way to make someone comply with the law.

I understand that it is dangerous to engage in vehicle pursuits but it is the threat of pursuits that makes people comply with the law.

For example look at street and bridge (the Bay Bridge) takeovers where the street or bridge is shut down to traffic and cars or motorcycles & 4 wheelers do street stunts. The police can’t pursue, the drivers are difficult to identify so arrests are rarely made. This is why in some neighborhoods these events are weekly occurrences. Police can’t pursue, no threat of apprehension, thus creating a lawless atmosphere.

I can’t wait for Katzenstein’s article to come out. I think she let her biases interfere with her research. Just be reading some of the outlandish comments from this interview I can’t see how Katzenstein came to her conclusions.

In fact every person that I know that has had a “behind the scenes” look at policing has ALWAYS come away with a more favorable opinion of how police do their jobs. I have had local anti-police activists take out citizens police academy program and they have left with a more favorable opinion of police after completion of the program.

Katzenstein claims that police is anti-black. I look forward to see where in her article she supports this claim with evidence. I have NEVER seen, been trained, or learned or any police trainings that are anti-black. Or anti any specific group. Katzenstein seems to have written her article way before she stepped foot in the field. This is sad.

If I get a copy of Katzenstein’s article I will review it. I think it will need an honest assessment. I am sure the liberal news media will promote it like wildfire.

This is a fascinating interview. If you haven’t heard Sgt. John Mattingly tell what happened that night you will not believe what you are about to hear. Mattlingly is easy to listen to and very believable. You will have to question the why the Louisville Government and Police Department hid the truth from the public. Mattingly is doing a great service to policing.

This is another example of how the progressive left has lied to attack policing. The left had used the Breonna Taylor incident to as a faux reason to demand change in policing.

It is VERY IMPORTANT to keep in mind that this article has a single premise – police are bad. There I save you a lot of reading.

Now if you have an open mind and look at the evidence keep the following in mind as you read the article.

  • Offenders are accountable for their behavior.
  • Police react to offender’s behavior.
  • Police make mistakes and police make bad decisions under life and death conditions.
  • Unarmed people can kill.
  • It is lawful for police to protect themselves and others.
  • Police do not have to be shot at before they can use deadly force.
  • Police have to use more force than the offender to overcome the offender’s force.
  • Police use of force many times is not easy or pretty.
  • Disproportionate by race to it’s population does not equal racism.
  • There are many factors that drive police-citizen contacts.

Police killings of any sort account for nearly 5% of all homicides, with at least 1,192 people killed by law enforcement in 2022
