Shots fired! Police union boss calls Chicago mayor ‘piece of garbage’ for saying law enforcement a ‘sickness’ to be ‘eradicated’ – CWB Chicago

The head of the union representing Chicago’s front line police officers is blasting Mayor Brandon Johnson for calling law enforcement a “sickness” that he plans to “eradicate.” Also speaking out about the mayor’s comments, albeit in a more measured tone, is Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke.

  1. I believe Mayor Johnson is in need of our understanding and grace. He is clearly compromised by a radical ideology and neither understands the significance of his words or their impact. The big question for me, as a resident of Illinois near Chicago, is where did these “challenged” folks come from and why do they keep getting elected in one of the nations greatest cities.

    1. Give Mayor Johnson grace when he talks about law enforcement being a sickness?
I would agree if Mayor Johnson misspoke. Dismantling the police is Johnson’s essence.
No police doesn’t work. Less police and more emergency social workers hasn’t been successful in the long run.
As long as there are bullies and criminals in society the police are necessary.

      1. You are absolutely correct Scott, I was trying to be as kind as possible as this guy is so far off it’s scarry. Hating on him never helps.

      2. The issue is that Chicago’s Uni-party government can govern with impunity. Mayor negatively labels people and is not held accountable by the media. Mayor Johnson doesn’t have to feel the impact of his decisions.
I posted the article because I think it is important for the Police Union President to be the one to address issues of policing and government.
