On Friday, June 10, 2022, to continue to promote transparency and legitimacy with our community, the Milwaukee Police Department announced the release of the 2022 Milwaukee Police Department’s Community Report: Strategies, Initiatives and Partnerships.

The Community Report is intended to highlight the efforts of the department’s ongoing and new initiatives in the context of crime trends and to present opportunities for the community to engage in the process. Where available, we include data and links to where the community can readily access real-time data.

The Milwaukee Police Department is committed to working with our community and system partners to build sustainable neighborhoods free of crime that are built on positive relationships. We are better together.

Police Race Action Plan | College of Policing

How we’re working to make policing anti-racist and reform or explain race disparities.
The Police Race Action Plan sets out changes across policing to improve outcomes for Black people who work within or interact with policing.

The plan was developed jointly by the College of Policing and the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), working in collaboration with Black communities and partners – including the National Black Policing Association (NBPA)(opens an external website in the same tab) and an independent scrutiny and oversight board (ISOB). It has the commitment of all 43 chief constables in England and Wales.

It aims to address:

disparities affecting Black people
lower levels of trust and confidence in the police among some Black people

Assessment Colorado Springs Police Department – Use of Force

Using both qualitative and quantitative methods that explore official police data, community and officer surveys and focus groups, and comparisons to peer agencies, we address the following research questions:

 What factors contribute to the use (and severity) of force by CSPD officers?

 How does CSPD use of force policy and training compare to similarly situated (i.e., peer) cities?

 Does the rate and severity of force align with racial/ethnic groups’ representation at risk for having

force used against them by police?

 What are possible explanations for any disparities found in police use and severity of force?

 What factors contribute to the likelihood of officer and citizen injuries?

 How do community members perceive use of force and police-community relations?

 How do CSPD officers perceive police use of force and police-community relations?

 What improvements should be made to CSPD’s use of force policies, training, and data collection

and analysis to meet current best practices?
